WHAT IS THE RUBICON?

The Rubicon is Troy University's student literary journal and club, dedicated to showcasing the creative work of our students and fostering a vibrant artistic community on campus. 

HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED WITH THE RUBICON?

We welcome all Troy University students to join The Rubicon regardless of classification. You can participate by submitting your creative work for publication, attending our events, or becoming a member of our staff. We accept new members throughout the semester!

WHAT ARE THE ROLES WITHIN THE RUBICON?

The Rubicon is led by a team of dedicated individuals (“The Maroon Staff”) who oversee various aspects of our organization. The roles range from editorial to marketing. Email troyrubicon@troy.edu for more information or complete the Interest Form if you want to join!

WHEN AND HOW OFTEN IS THE RUBICON PUBLISHED?

The Rubicon is published annually, typically in the Fall semester.

CAN I SUBMIT MY WORK TO THE RUBICON IF I'M NOT A TROY UNIVERSITY STUDENT?

Currently, The Rubicon only accepts submissions from Troy University students.

WHAT TYPE OF SUBMISSIONS DOES THE RUBICON ACCEPT?

The Rubicon accepts a wide range of creative works, including poetry, fiction, non-fiction, art, photography, and sheet music. We welcome submissions that are thought-provoking, original, and showcase the unique voice of the artist.

HOW CAN I SUBMIT MY WORK TO THE RUBICON?

You can submit your work to The Rubicon through our website. Be sure to review our submission guidelines!

DOES THE RUBICON OFFER ANY OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS TO GAIN EXPERIENCE IN PUBLISHING AND EDITING?

Yes, The Rubicon offers positions and opportunities for students interested in gaining experience in publishing, editing, event planning, and more! Contact us at troyrubicon@troy.edu for more information.

CAN I SUBMIT WORK THAT HAS BEEN PREVIOUSLY PUBLISHED OR SUBMITTED ELSEWHERE?

We prefer unpublished work, but we may consider previously published or submitted work on a case-by-case basis. Please indicate in your submission if your work has been published or submitted elsewhere.

HOW CAN I STAY UPDATED ON THE RUBICON'S EVENTS AND PUBLICATIONS?

You can stay updated on The Rubicon's events and publications by following us on social media and checking your “troy.edu” email. All emails from The Rubicon to the university community will have the subject line “RBCN (MONTH)”!
